Over the last few years, it's safe to say we've all grabbed any opportunity for a bit of escapism.

For many, this has led to discovering a new hobby, and while some were busy baking their hundredth loaf of banana bread, others were busy on epic quests for glory and vanquishing trolls.

Dungeons and Dragons (also known as D&D) is a role-playing game where players take on a character and work with others during a storytelling game.

Every game is different, and despite already having a cult following, D&D seems to be having a massive resurgence during the pandemic.

That's not to say it ever went away - especially as the game can be played in both the physical and the online world - but Dungeons and Dragons publisher Wizards of the Coast said 2020 was the game's best year yet.
